Hot Stone Massage

A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy. It’s used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body.

During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body with a towel as a barrier between the stones and your bare skin.

The stones are made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat and may be placed along your spine, stomach, chest, face, palms, feet & toes. We will then begin using the hot stones with massage motions.

What you can expect at your massage

First you will be taken into our Therapy room with dim lighting and soft music.

You don't need any special preparation for massage. Before your massage starts, you will be asked if you have any specific area problems, your medical history and what you're hoping to get out of massage. 

In a typical massage therapy session, you undress or wear loose-fitting clothing. Undress only to the point that you're comfortable. You will then  lie on the massage table and cover yourself with a towel.
We will  perform an evaluation through touch to locate painful or tense areas and to determine how much pressure to apply.

Depending on preference, your massage therapist may use NuMe Massage Coconut oil  to reduce friction on your skin. Please tell us if you would be likely allergic to any ingredients 

A massage session may last from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the type of massage and how much time you have. No matter what kind of massage you choose, you should feel calm and relaxed during and after your massage.

Please let us know if we  push too hard, ask for lighter pressure. Occasionally you may have a sensitive spot in a muscle that feels like a knot. It's likely to be uncomfortable while we it out. But if it becomes painful, please speak up.
