How To Prepare For Waxing

Why Do we provide waxing services?

1.Check your skin. Before everything else you need to check that your skin is in good condition to be waxed. If you find any inflammation or broken skin in the area you plan to wax then you should allow this to heal before going in. Moles and beauty marks need special attention if they are in the waxing area so let your therapist know about them so they can be protected.

2.Avoid taking a hot shower or bath immediately before treatment. Some people think this can help with hair removal because it opens pores, but it will make the skin far too sensitive for waxing. To avoid the risk of irritation, shower at least one to two hours before your appointment.

3.Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. But stop on the day of your waxing. Well moisturized and healthy skin can really help with allowing the wax strip to release from the skin. Just don’t moisturize on the day of your waxing as the moisturizer will invariably coat your hairs and affect the grip of the wax.

4.Make sure that the area to be treated is clean, dry and free from any oils and lotions. Additionally, gently exfoliating the skin will remove dead skin cells that wax might stick to instead of the hair.

5.Check your medications. Women taking Roaccutane cannot undergo waxing. Other medications for the skin can also make it too sensitive for waxing. Most anti-aging and acne treatments work by speeding up the exfoliation of the skin. This can make the skin far too sensitive to wax. Let your therapist  know about any medications you’re taking before your treatment.

We love offering waxing services it gives our clients a BEAUTIFUL smooth result afterwards. Most woman have busy schedules in their home life & we know how important it is to try and keep up with maintenance. Who has time to shave every second day?

How long does my hair have to be to wax?

Make sure your hair is long enough to wax If you have coarse hair it should be closer to 1/2-inch for the first few waxes. Once the hair becomes finer it can be waxed at a shorter length. If your hair is longer,We recommend shaving the area and booking your waxing appointment for two to three weeks later.

How long do you have to wait to shower after a wax?

It's perfectly fine to take a cool or warm shower after your wax, however, wait at least 5-8 hours for the skin to recover. Avoid hot showers or steam rooms after your wax. Hair follicles remain open for hours after waxing, so it's best to avoid contact with any excess moisture for at least 24 hours.

How long does the results last?

We recommend re-booking your waxing service every 3-6 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows- can usually tell by the second waxing session when to re-book.

How Badly Does Waxing Hurt?

Picture
Since you’re having numerous hairs pulled out at once, there is some discomfort involved with waxing.
Pain tolerance is different for everyone. However, some areas can be worse.
The most painful?
It’s usually the upper lip and underarms & Brazilian as these are the most sensitive areas.
Typically, you can expect waxing to hurt the most the first time you have it done.
There are several things you can do to make your waxing experience as painless and smooth as possible.
A little extra care before, during and after waxing can make a significant difference in how happy you are with your results.
